Anything OTC that can help?

No insurance for a Dr. visit + I'm in quarantine. In the U.S., is there anything OTC or online I can get for external hemorrhoids that works? Have tried Target brand Prep H cream with NO luck.

Only thing that really works is change your diet for now, stay super hydrated and alternate 800mg of tylenol to 800mg of motrin every 4 to 6 hrs, and do not wipe, after shower use shower wand to rinse off, should help alot, in some casses topical creams may help, but dont get your Hope's up, best of luck!!

Hi Zelda, If you have external ones, there usually are internal ones too..You can try Anusol, it has a topical pain killer and helps heal/shrink them, (use it inside and out, very gently)you can use a donut(inflatable ring or cushion) to sit on, if they are bad it keeps pressure off...warm water soak in a shallow container w/1-2 tsp salt or shallow bath in tub w 1 Tbs salt...keep area clean, a baby wash/unscented would work well...rinse with water, not wiping with paper or towel, pat dry lightly, cool compresses help for swelling but, a warm cloth/heating pad can help relax the muscles and help with pain, it can help the blood to reabsorb if they are engorged(full of blood).... for b.m. BEFORE, you can use a liberal amount of a personal lubricant, like KY jelly(water based, easy to wash off, not petroleum jelly) internal/external to help reduce friction and pain, AFTER, need to soak in your salt bath ....be sure to drink at least 6 glasses of WATER a day and use a stool softener until it settles down, or longer if you are constipated, if you want to use an oral OTC pain med you should consult a Dr.(over phone or nurse consult etc, ask a Pharmacist, they can at least tell you if it is bad for your condition) IF you have any other health concerns like kidney issues, tylenol is not advised for that and can cause constipation, an anti-inflammatory might help but, s/b taken with food to avoid stomach issues....if you take ANY other meds at least ask your Pharmacist if there are any interactions, OTC are still drugs/medications...if you have any allergies...read labels carefully...exercise can help keep you regular and dairy can be constipating, you can try prunes or prune juice and eat fiber, or take something like Benefiber(lots of different kinds & flavours) aim for 20g/day if you continue to be constipated, eat fruits & veggies, skin has more fiber, they have water...wash skin with a scrub brush in THIS health crisis...slushies, ice/water/fruit helps in both ways ...All I can think of...keep reading there is some good advice on here..Good Luck & BEST WISHES, come back ANYTIME💒🎶♾🐾🌈🍀☮
