Apologies

Hi everyone
The last time I tried to answer your replies, my iPhone, which is now the only means I have of internet coverage, crashed.
I am four weeks post op tomorrow but unfortunately, developed an infection to the top of my incision which prevented me from performing my physio and to be truthful, dragged me down to the depths of depression.
I have been taking penicillin and washing with saline and at last, after six days, it appears to be getting better.
I apologise to everyone who responded regarding my leg length discrepancy, which I have been told, will sort itself out.
I can't risk my iPhone crashing again however , I shall be able read any responses.
I live alone and feel so very low. Apparently that is also quite normal .
But I have not been able to venture out for a walk and feel I am now way behind with my recovery.
My incision was sutured and I was just unlucky.
Good luck and best wishes to everyone on this forum.

What a shame. Just at the point where you would expect to be more mobile , you get an infection and the setback that comes with it. So glad to hear that the wound seems to be improving. You've been very brave and patient.
Try to keep positive because hopefully you'll be out and about again soon and that will lift your spirits....

Dear Morrie,
I am so sorry to read this ... fortunately the infection is clearing up -
how is your scar feeling?
No need to apologize either ...
And then the crashing of your Iphone !!! not so good -
I live alone and had 2 THR surgeries 6 months apart - the feeling down and just flat out depressed is "normal" and so discouraging ...
this journey is definitely a roller coaster -being alone is very challenging - for me it was/is a lot of getting motivated to excercise or get out of the house by myself -
Are you getting any physical therapy?
how are the lengths of your legs ?
you are not behind your recovery darling - don't compare your self to others, not even compare the 2 surgeries to each other -
when is your follow up appointment?
Thinking of you
big warm hug
renee

I'm so sorry...but recovery doesn't come, well in my case, as quickly as we like. We are all different and you have had a setback. Now, hopefully, you are on the up! Small steps and grab each one as a positive!

Morrie, Lovelyto hear from you again, thank goodness you are ok, and haven't got a blood infection or worse. Your recovery may be delayed a bit, but I'm sure you will fight back. Feeling low is a part of this recovery, as many of us have found out.
Hugs and best wishes for your recovery
Graham

How do you think the infection happened" Was it what some call( if I undrstand it correctly) "staff infection" ? When you say" my incision was sutured" what does that impoy nand mean and what are the ramifications? Was that an attempt to correct or gget rid of the infection? Or w an inital mistake that caused trouble? t
