I had my appendix removed after the ER doctor saw my scan saying “mildly inflamed appendix” and he acted like i needed it out right then and there.   About two months after that surgery it was guidelined that doctors use antibiotics before removing appendixes I believe

I had a grumbling appendix for many, many years, eventually it burst and went into peritonitis.

Emergency Op and I was very lucky !

My doctor had me on antibiotics and anti inflammatories at the time ...

I did not get the normal symptoms when it burst, no terrible pain on my right side but a feeling of general unwell being and it was almost like having really bad indigestion !!

Strange but True..  Your appendix is on your right side very low down..  Sometimes you get leg pain  when you have an inflamed appendix ..

     Hope this helps ..
