applying for health/travel insurance with a DVT

Hi guys,

I'm 23 years old and had a DVT back in 2016, still currently taking warfrine! I have recently been offered a job in Florida having taken the 12 month contract and sent of all visa applications for a J-1 Visa...

the next problem I am facing in insurance to cover myself if anything happened whist I was out there, it would be great if there would be anyone who has worked abroad before with a DVT and knows what insurance is best and how much roughly it is going to cost.

cheers

Cant answer your question on the insurance harry but I find it a little odd that you are still on warfarin.  I have to take anticoagulants for life after my DVT but I was moved from Wafarin onto Apixaban after a year.  Apixaban is much easier than Warfarin, there is no need for blood tests,  diet does not affect Apixaban at all nor does alcohol.   I just take 2 pills a day and thats it.   You may like to ask your doctor if you are suitable for it.
