i go to see a dr. for this jan. 7. they must really be hard to get into, plus reviews have said many do not return calls or answer phones. i have to say the number they left me did not have an answer so when it sent me to voice mail, it said it was full and could not take any more messages and this was for prescription requests. i am getting very nervous about this. when i finally got through to someone i told them if they were not going to answer phones or get back with me then don't even waste my time. why waste my money and my ins. money on part time drs.
can someone tell me if a specific blood test can be positively accurate with this diagnosis? my primary dr. says the test i got was new and it was reliable. i'm really concerned about this miserable dry mouth which seems how this started. then the pain in my toe where i could barely walk and my one toe swelled up. the pain felt like there were 100 needles pushing into my toe from the inside trying to get out. i thought it was gout. it was awful. then the wrist started messing up where i could not do anything with my hand. it would last a day and be better the next morning. if one wrist hurt then the other side hurt also but not quite as bad thank goodness. my knees also hurt terribly. i take a motrin 800 and it seems to help. i am terrified of the meds i read about people taking. i can go for days with no pain and then out of no where something starts slowly begin to ache you'd call it, and then it just blossoms from there. the dry mouth never ends. it might get a little better but it never stops and it's miserable.

Hi, are you in the UK?, I don't think blood tests actually tell if you have Rheumatoid Arthritis etc, they can tell if you have inflammation, CRP C-reactive protein measures inflammation, PV plasma viscocity measures inflammation, they can measure Rheumatoid factor, so basically it involves blood test and a examination by a Rheumatologist and x-rays.

Hi
I had an ultra sound scan and x-rays as my consultant did not just rely on blood tests. Ask to be referred
good luck
