Hi
I am a 76 years old
Had Aquablation on March 3. Stayed 2 nights in hospital for irrigation for 48 hours straight. I have a lot of bleeding. My prostate was 157cc. Dr. wanted me to stay another day but I talked him into letting me go home. Catheter stayed in for 5 days. Dr. removed catheter and I was able to void bladder. Pain was never bad for me just a lot of blood coming out when I pee. It is now day 8 and I still have a lot of blood. First 2 nights home without catheter had to pee every hour did not get any sleep. Night 7 was better was able to sleep a bit as I got up to pee every 2 hours. My biggest worry is the amount of blood I am peeing but today I think it was less.
Day 9 Blood seems a little less when urinating. Steam is ok. Burnong sensation seems to have increased. Before surgery had catheter in me for 10 weeks. Good luck to all
Day 10 urine stream sprayed everywhere. Later in day stream was normal. Day 10 seems the same as day 9.
Day 11 Less blood in urine. Still urinate a lot but I am drinking a lot. Have a bit more energy today. Could not go outside for walk do to light snow.
Day 12. Lot more blood in urine. Have call into Dr. to see if is normal. No pain and can still urinate. This procedure seems to a longer recovery than I was led to believe. Update after I talk to nurse or Dr. Nurse said the increase bleeding was normal. Late afternoon the blood in the urine was a lot less and more like yesterday.
Day 15. This morning blood in urine was less. I walked a mile yesterday and I was tired after the walk, I was walking on flat ground. I was walking 3 miles a day before surgery up and down hills. First week energy level was low , walking 1/.4 mile was very tiring . Going to try and walk another mile today.
Day 16 . Still have blood in urine. Start of urine stream has the most blood then seems to clear. Walked a mile and a quarter yesterday. Fell like I am getting my energy back. Drinking a lot of water but getting up 3 or 4 times at night. I think I am getting up because of all the water I am drinking. Urine stream seems strong. Never had any constipation problems but I am taking a stool softener prescribed by Dr. He also wanted me to take laxative but I never needed it. Try and walk a mile and half today.
Day 17 walked mile and half today and felt good may try for 2 miles tomorrow. Still have blood in urine but less than a week ago. Amount of blood in urine seems to change during the day. I feel good and have more energy. Clotting or a blockage is still a worry as I still pass big black things in my urine.
Day 19 Blood in urine has decreased and sometimes it looks clear. Visited Dr today and told me bleeding is normal and should decrease. Hopefully by the fourth week the bleeding will be gone. He told me I can do everything I want to do. Lift weights sex etc. I might wait for the 4 week to try everything. I am walking 2 miles now but I still get a little tired. Hopefully nest week I can start walking on the trails near me and do 3 miles. At Dr visit today I was able to empty my bladder with just 18cc remaining. I probably will not update this until the fourth week. I hope everyone going through this good luck.
It is now the 4th week after surgery. Bleeding is very little. I have almost all my energy back and urine flow is very good. The only problem is that no cum comes out when I have sex. I will call Dr next week to see what he thinks. I will update after I speak to Dr.
