Hi Bill, as far as I know Sertraline is not addictive. NeilĀ

Not addictive in the sense that opioids are addictive; however, once you start taking sertraline, you would want to continue using it to be effective and avoid the problems associated with withdrawal.

In order to stop using, you would need to titrate down under supervision of your physician.

5 mg is a very low dose.

Hi Bill, do you mean 50 mg ?

I am not sure how can you have 5 mg .

They are not. But you might get some side effect the first week of taking 50mg. I would start with 25mg for 4 weeks before increasing to 50mg.
