Are Fibromyalgia & UTI related

Hello

I'm 43, been in menopause since 3years now. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2016 and i have had different pain on different parts of the body. My migraines are the worst and fatigue sometimes.

Recently, i developed UTI symptoms like burning when passing Urine with some blood and pain in my lower back. GP prescribed Nicotronoin antibiotics immediately. I used it with drinking lots and lots of water for about 3 days until pain at the lower back moved from my left to right side. Again some blood came out so i went to out of hours clinic and he changed my antibiotics to pivecimlillian antibiotics and tested my urine. The doctor said my kidney seem fine and Fibromyalgia might be playing a part in the pain. The pain got worse and i had to go to A&E couple of days later. They did blood tests and it came back urine infection is clearing and kidney seem fine. The A&E clinician suggested again the Fibro might be intersecting with the UTI.

Question is, does or has anyone experience severe pain following a UTI episode. The pain has been grusome round my lower side of back and only get some relief with co-codamol so i can sleep. I can't walk properly. Never experienced this pain with previous fibro pain. I also currently have some sharp shooting pains in shoulder joint and hip areas.

Should i go back for another test or can it be Fibromyalgia been triggard by the UTI?

They do say that UTIs can be relatively fibromyalgia and the pain I think would be a flare up episode of fibromyalgia do you take cranberry tablets they can help you prevent them in the future and ural sachets as soon as you feel like your getting a uti I have read that some women suffer more UTIs while going through menopause I would definitely see your GP get some serious pain medication for you fibromyalgia flare up my doctor also prescribed me milnacipran that is apparently a wonder drug for fibromyalgia sufferers it’s a antidepressant that is supposed to block your pain but it doesn’t agree with me but might work for you I have only recently been diagnosed with it so I’m only knew at this horrible disease my back shoulders elbows are my worst acupuncture they say is great to help you but physical therapy isn’t good so it’s all trial & error for me Atm if I don’t take my pain medication I can’t get out of bed but once it kicks in I’m ok and can deal with the pain sort of lol I’ve recently ordered hemp oil to give that a go I have noticed since going through menopause I get more UTIs just recently had a partial hysterectomy kept my cervix and overies ( not sure if that’s the correct spelling) now on patches to help with the symptoms of menopause they help me a lot hope I’ve helped you a bit sorry to hear your going through a hard time and hope you feel better soon lots and lots of water helps you flush the UTI which your doing really hope you get some relief from your pain xxx

Thank you Donna. I will sure go on the Cranberry to prevent any future UTI's. I will go back on Amitripilin anti -depressant today as i haven't used it for a while since antibiotics course finishes today.

Was Just a bit worried there might be something wrong round my kidney area. Didn't know fibro will be this painful and persistent.
