Are grommets effective?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone had had grommets inserted into one or both ears and how effective have they been in preventing dizziness, vertigo, aural fullness?

Thank you in advance 😊

    Hi Sarah,

I had a grommet fitted to my right ear six months ago to help with the administration of steroid injections. It made the process of injecting the inner ear easy and pain free. It did nothing to help dizziness, vertigo tinnitus.or ear fullness.

The grommet worked itself out after 3 months and I had another inserted to help with more steroids and Gentamycin, 9 injections in total. Again that grommet came out after 3 months.

    Good luck.

    Paul
