Are my symptoms normal?

Started out with some pain in my upper abdomen, thought I had a hernia.  Had two ultrasounds and an abdominal MRI.  GYN said I had a tangerine size growth.  Also told I had adenomyosis and Mirena IUD inserted July 2017.  I had heavy periods, some clotting but not long periods.  Years of back and right leg pain, unexplainable, nothing found on Xrays or CT scans or MRI.  Now having right side pain, feels like kidney infection.  Just had another ultrasound, technician said I have a large fibroid on my right ovary.  Thinking IUD has caused the "tangerine" to grow larger since last July.  Constipation has been an issue also.  Has anyone else had symptoms like this?  What types of solutions has others turned to?  Thinking Dr. may suggest having hysterectomy or removal of fibroids.

    Hi Linda,

Before I had my uterine fibroid embolization, I read 2 books and those symptoms you were mentioning was the same as in the book. I did not have constipation luckily. My periods were horribly heavy with multiple clots. My fibroids were 2 cm - 13 cm (4 of them). I can honestly say that I am done with having kids, so although I am, I still did not want a hysterectomy and chose to go with the above.

Do what you feel is right for you. There are also websites that will explain the options to help you become familiar with them and ask your doctor.

Hope this helps a little bit. Good luck!

      Hi Mali,

The actual procedure went well and was my very first surgery in my life. The only problem I had was vomiting afterwards from one of the meds that they used.

I am now in month 5 since my surgery and feel quite good. After week 2, I was allowed to go back to my normal routine, mind you, I was still

a bit tired and did not want to open the incision area, so was cautious.

Hope this helps in some way.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.

      Can I ask:

      1. Where did you do your procedure. In a hospital with a proffesional radiologist, or in a private clinic?

      2. Is it a full segue, or just a small procedure with a Local anesthesia?

      3. Did the radiologist Infiltrated small particles trough your uterus?

I hope it's OK to ask so many questions. I don't have anyone that I can ask about his experience in this matter.

      Thank you for your patience.
