Are the white patches raised or flat?

Posted , 4 users are following.

Mine are flat, one was raised before but then flattened out. The one doctor I've seen so far said she wouldn't biopsy it because it's flat so there is "nothing there" to biopsy.

So just wondering, I have several small very defined flat white spots, and the the skin around the outside of my vagina on both sides is turning pale. Not raised.

Are yours raised or flat?

i had white patches that were flat that the doctor took a biopsy from to get my diagnosis. you can biopsy any skin and LS can be present without white patches. i have some new more raised patches now that im worried about that see to be more typical of LS but where i had the biopsy from i wouldnt have even noticed was that different from "normal" skin

My patches were flat - and my doctor took four different biopsies (from flat skin.)

Had a couple of white flat spots in Jan but now mostly gone. Been to six docs, last one is best because she explained more and listened to me most of the time. They can biopsy any piece of skin. It doesn't have to be raised. Biopsies are not all that accurate.
