Are there any events for adult eczema sufferer's

I have severe atopic eczema all over my body and am very self conscious. This leads to not socialising and getting depressed. I was wondering if there are any meet ups and events for sufferer's where they could get together for activities like sport, swimming etc.

Depends on where you live, and if there is an event there.

      Hi

I live in Yorkshire but I've never really come across any eczema groups as such.

Most of my body is covered with red inflamed skin, I also have a lot of dark marks on my skin where previous eczema has cleared. Therefore this has put me off going to gym or swimming as I keep myself covered to avoid getting the looks.

If there were group events for sufferer's then everyone would be in the same boat so no need to worry.

Hi Jaafrey. Atopic eczema which has previously been treated by topical steroids can become severe, requiring higher and higher potencies of steroid creams as the body becomes addicted. Have you thought about finding the cause of your severe eczema, as it's usually confined to smaller areas of the body.

There are groups of people who meet up at times who have idenfued that they are addicted. If you aren't already aware of the condition you may be interested in googling it for more info. Good luck.

      Hi

I have tried everything from steroid creams and emolients to light treatment and herbal medicine.

      Nothing has worked
