Are these GB attack symptons ?

Hi, back in February 2015, after an evening of Curry & chocolate fondants, my symptom’s began with excessive gas & bloating this was followed by pains below my right rib in line with my nipple. All over my right lower stomach, naval and below I started having what I can only describe as "bee stings". I began searching and decided to change my diet immediately, no meat, low low fat, cut sugar out amongst other things. My bm's started to change, more loose and a lighter brown, I am not sure if this is to my new diet, lots and lots of veggies & fibre, which I wasn’t good at eating before. I am 48 and not overweight. My current symptom’s, the feeling of a ball or enlargement central right stomach and pains that extend to the groin (feels like muscles) and still the bee stings, I can’t lay on either side at night due to this feeling of the ball, swelling although when I press around this area nothing.  Could I be in liver trouble ? I have not drank alcohol for the past 2.5 years although an avid daily Pepsi Max drinker for 20 years this also stopped in Feb.  I know it’s a lot of symptom’s but everyone here seems so helpful I am hopeful that you guys will put my mind at rest or at least start pointing me in the right direction. Thanks for reading, well if you got this far lol.

    Hi

you need to go to GP and ask to have an ultra sound...

i cannot say the bee stings pain is new to me but the ball swelling I did have and it was my liver ...there are so many things it could be  and an ultra sound would show if it was gallstones ..I had gallstones ..

    my advice GP ...

Sally, did your gallstones symptoms also include excessive belching, indigestion, etc? that is how I usually feel now 90 percent of the time in the evening time. breakfast doesn't bother me so much but by the time I get to around 6 p.m. I thought to have the gastro problems that last a couple of hours. when I'm lucky it's only burping and indigestion. sometimes it's a horrid pain in the center of my upper abdomen that radiates into the middle of my back. then it just abruptly stops and goes away. The longest episode I had was about 3 hours

I had shares in gaviscon ...that should say it all. Belching burning indigestion burning in front and back ..shoulder ache general  billiousness after eating that was every day ..then the colic attacks which I had about once a year I now know we're stones getting stuck were so excruciating painful ...felt like ribs were broken and intestines sore and inflamed pushing on ribs agony ...continuous vomiting for about 8 hours until GP gave me anti sick and buscopan melds ..then as quickly as it hit it would disappear ...I urge you to ask for an ultra sound as I had 15 years of pain and attacks GP s telling me it was acid reflux then it was ulcers ..ended up munching gaviscon and taking omeprazole until a new GP said ultra sound ...and I had it removed  February 2014 ..I can eat anything , no acid reflux no heart burn no pain ...fantastic ..bit annoyed I suffered for so so long ..but am happy now

You should definitely be seen by a doctor. I'm having similar problems except the pain starts a few hours after eating. Sometimes it's just an uncomfortable really full feeling even if I haven't eaten that much. But sometimes the pain is so severe it feels like labour pains! It even radiates into my back. I've been like this since Feb and I can't deal with it, it's gotten progressively worse. I have a gastroenterologist appointment this evening to get some answers.

Thank you guy's for your quick replies & Michelle good luck with your appointment this evening. I am currently working abroad so a visit to the GP will be on the cards although I would of pref back in the UK.  The bee sting pain's are wierd.

I understand your situation! I'm also working abroad in Brazil right now. I've tried to avoid going to the doctor, even though my employer provides medical insurance. But I can't take the pain any longer than I have.

Just too add something, I have no loss of appetite & never have been or felt sick. On occasion when preparing food that I might think will affect it, I recieve a tingling sensation in the same area.

You get what I have been getting for the past 13 years. Not fats, junk food or eating out.  when you do this is what happens.  You are doing this to yourself. You are damaging your body and  you need to wake up and deal with it the right way. when I eat sweets I know what will happen the next few days. Diet ,Diet

That's a pretty bold and presumptuous comment don't you think? I don't no about the original poster, but I will tell you that it doesnt matter what I eat. Something as simple as a grilled piece of chicken breast, brown rice and salad will happening in dire pain a couple of hours after eating. I don't eat out no I do I eat sweets. So i'm certainly not, "doing it to myself". Constructive advice is certainly welcome, but rude accusations and judgment certainly isn't.

    hi stu

mine also started in feb this year,i was sent for a ultrascan ,to cut a long story short I hace gallstones.pain in right side and back and i too can't sleep on my right or left side, seen two surgeons both are saying that even though i have gs they believe my pain is coming from my back as the pain gets worse when i move,I too started a lowfat diet which seems to have helped,so do go to your doctor but don't get your hopes up like I did  thinking because I have gs they will remove my gb.I sometimes feel like i being stabed pain going from my front to my back, also sometimes it feels like a knot and sometimes it goes away, its better than it was in feb,be perpared to have to wait for an appointment.I went to the pain clinic today and they are going to give me injection into my back,I've had them before,so hopefuly this will rule out one way if its my gallstones causing my pain or my back.I have been told i have a 1 in 3 chance that if I decide to have my gb out I could still be in pain.i hope all goes well for you and I know its hard to go to a doctor when your not in the uk but I am sure they will beable to reasure you, good luck with it all

This sounds as if it could be gallstones. I would have an ultrasound scan.

If it is gallstones have your gallbladder removed sooner rather than later, you will feel so much better.

    Keep in touch
