ARE THESE "MEDS" GOOD FOR ME?

Hi to all....I just came back from the shrink...and he "diagnosed" me with severe anxiety..severe depression and panic disorder after seeing me for 5 minutes..He wrote me a script for.

1. Prozac

2 Seroquel

3. Xanax

Have anyone of you have any experiences taking these meds ? And have they helped you..I'm afraid they'll make my cognitive failing condition worse

Hi. Your doc saw you for 5 mins and gave you all 3 meds. Did doc tell you when to take each med, e.g when you have a panic / anxiety attack, and did doc discuss how long each med would last, e.g. Xanax I believe will relieve anxiety but only last couple of hours. Prozac and xanax are quite strong meds and can be addictive so hopefully your doc wants you to visit again soon befote perscribing more, . Starting 3 meds at the same time, try and keep a journal of when you take them and if they seem to be helping or you may not know which is helping ?  Perhaps also post again , I've never been prescribed 3 meds at once , more replies are always helpful. If you take them and have any concerns ring your doc or a pharmacist😊??

That seems a bit strange after 5 minutes. I’m on seroquel 50mg for my anxiety. I think it’s a fairly safe one depending on the dosage. It’s probably not that good for you long term but I have found it very helpful, especially with sleep. It’s not addictive in the sense you need more for it to work, but you would need to taper it off not just stop it. I don’t have any experience of the other medication, but I’m also on Sertraline (Zoloft) and the occasional Diazepam when things are really bad. If your unsure about taking the medication I would try and get another appointment. It doesn’t sound like they were doing their job properly from what you’ve said. These are pretty strong medications with potential side effects which you need reassuring about. I hope you get it sorted.

I'm pretty sure they will help.  I used to take Prozac and I still take an SSRI.  I also take xanax too.

Taking prozac might give you negative side effects for the first two weeks, but it will get better.

Take xanax only as needed.  If you prolong xanax for too long, you're gonna develop a dependency.  So I suggest take it only until you start to feel better.

They won't make your condition worse.  They were given to you for a reason.  You will feel better Louis.

    God Bless you!
