Are you supposed to lie in bed all day with tibial stress fracture?

People say to stay off it but does it mean you have to lie in bed all day and only go to the toilet. Can you not have a shower on your feet or do the dishes or go for a walk?

Maria were you told that you are "non weight bearing"?  If so then you should have something to help you get around like crutches because no weight at all on that leg/foot.  I had a knee scooter.  I think crutches would have been better because the scooter didn't do stairs.  I also couldn't drive because I couldn't use the gas or brake peddles.  So no you don't have to lay in bed all day but I did a lot of sitting and watching TV with my leg elevated because no walking was allowed and I wanted to heal ASAP.  The time goes quickly if you have friends and family to help and you can get out with assistance.  Good luck.
