Arnica, to use or not to use?

hi Hippys.  Have any of your taken Arnica before your op and if so did it help?  A surgeon told my husband years ago to take Arnica pills two weeks before his op and for two weeks after as this helps healing.  This advice may now be obsolete.  I have also used Arinca gel (QVC) for years now on any aches, sprains, bruises and it is very effective.  Many nights I have used this on my knees to relieve pain.  It is so cooling.  I wonder if this could be used around the scar area.  Any thoughts please?

      I was given

arnica one just before the op and one asap after and then 1 3x a day for 5 days and then gradually reduced.

hypericum for nerve pain/incision (same dosage as arnica)

staphisagria incision pain / feeling of invasion

phosphorus. One before op and one after for any anxiety about the op

nwx vom for nausea And constipation

i had had a consultation with the homeopath about 3 weeks before she had had the same operation which was helpful. If it wasn't for this pain I'm getting now I would have sailed through this.

      hope this us helpful
