ARS symptoms

Condom broke with escort 24 days ago. tested for everything on day 16 and came out negative. including duo hiv test. But currently have headaches, dizziness for a week and 3 straight weeks of diarrhea. What could it be? Could Diarrhea start 3 days after exposure be caused by a std? Is HIV or Hepatitis probable?

Hi, you don't mention what kind of sex this is. Is it vaginal penetration? I would try not to worry too much, anxiety can cause all of these symptoms especially diarrhea. I suffer from anxiety related stomach problems so I can testify to that. In some people the antibodies would have been picked up at two weeks but the general recommendation is to wait three months for a HIV test and I think up to six for hepatitis. There's a possibility yes, probability can't really be guessed just based on the fact it was an escort. Not everyone who has sex with someone who is HIV positive will catch it every time if that makes sense. The risk is lower if you penetrated her vagina than it would be for her as the recipient. I would try to keep calm and not stress too much then go for the test at three months. Opt for a rapid test at a month if you need to put your mind at ease before then. Most people show up by then but it's important to retest at three months. Hope this helps? Xx

Hi Joanne , yes it was vaginal and at the very most it was probably 2 minutes of unprotected sex. Not sure when the condom broke but I know it was on at least 2 minutes before.  I'm am going to get retested today see if there's any change in my results

I think you'll probably be okay but good to test to make sure. Seriously; I am fatigued ALLLL the time and I have worried so much about HIV in the past but tested negative/ there are so many reasons you could be feeling ill. The stress will be making you run down for a start.
