As a little girl I would suffer with digestive problems, heart burn constantly and would have what I call now a painful attack of ibs maybe once a year. As I have gotton older these attacks increased incredably bloted stomach and nausea plus the heartburn, food would not stay down.

I was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia ( which doesn't help ) but also was put on tablets called Zoton which stopped me producing acid in my stomach ( these really worked) however the bloatedness and spasms although not as frequent did not go away. I have been taking mebeverine for a few months now combined with the Zoton, excercise and a healthy eating lifestyle seems to have calmed the spasms down but the wind and bloatedness ( especially round my period) although less is still apparent. I seem to get attacks only when i am upset and nervous now.

I have read most of the comments on this medicine and it seems the one thing the drug doesn't do it get rid of the bloatedness.

Apart from the pain this is the next worst thing about ibs as I have to unzip my skirts when my stomache blows up. I have had this for a few years and it only affects me when I am at work. Never had an attach at the weekends! I have a desk job and sit at a computer all day. Not moving about doesn't help but I know this is down to stress. I have suffered migraines all my life and have been taking beta blockers for years to keep them under control.

I hope you continue to get relief from Mebeverine - it works for me. Just need something to ease the bloated stomache. Anyone got any suggestions?

I am taking Omeprazole and Mebeverine also and was wondering if you knew if Mebeverine relaxes all of the muscles in the digestive system including the muscle that connects the oesophagus to the stomach as I get acid reflux into my oesophagus. I have suffered with acid reflux for about 6 years now and was hoping the Mebeverine would actually help this, but its hard to tell either way.

I am also taking omeprazole and mebeverine and was wondering if anyone could help me. I have suffered from acid reflux for 6 years now and was wondering if Mebeverine relax ALL muscles in the digestive system including the muscle/valve which connects the oesophagus to the stomach. I am just trying to find out some advice as to wether Mebeverine would help or make acid reflux worse.

I think Mebeverine Hydrochloride can take with Motilium to combat the bloating. At least that was what I was prescribe by my Stomach Specialist.
