Hi everyone

Does anyone know what triggers off a bad AS flare? Is it stress related or another reason?

Hi Lisa, it can be related to many reasons. Stress definitely does not help and high stress may result in a really bad flare. As well as recurrent (or even one time in certain cases) high carb food or sugar or even over excersising. Illness as simple as flu can trigger inflammation. Feel well.

    Hi Lisa

I, like many other AS patients, have psoriasis. A few months ago I stopped drinking coffee. Within a few weeks 80% of my psoriasis had cleared up. Since then I have not had a flare up. I know that AS and psoriasis are linked so perhaps worth a try.

    Best of luck!

    hi lisa,

the only thing that i have noticed so far is red meat and fries, its hard to be 100 percent certain but after not eating red meat for 2 months i had an organic steak and a plate of french fries,... with in a day or so i was in a complete fog for 3-4 days  during the thanksgiving holiday, i had no energy , was deppressed and the one time i tried to do something phisical my arms were shaking like crazy, it was a monumental effort for me. fortuantley since then i have been ok.
