Ashamed of anxiety

Does anyone else feel ashamed by their anxiety disorder? I know I do.I've never properly admitted it to anyone. Some people seem a bit awkward around mental health issues.I'm a big bloke & feel so pathetic.

Mental health issues are done to us without our permission, and are very serious because they can hijack the real 'us' before we realise it.
If people you meet cannot handle the truth that you are struggling with every fibre of your body to climb out of this black hole, then in my opinion they are not worthy of even speaking to.
It doesn't matter how big or small you are these illnesses are so insidious and vicious that they can bring us to our knees.
I congratulate you for having the courage to speak so openly about the way that you feel.
