hi all, i was diagnosed with aspergers syndrome back in march this year, one thing i would like to know is that is it common a, for those of us to have aspergers to have bad days where nothing goes right, b have days when you just cant remember anything from what was said in a conversation 5 mins ago to not remembering things from the past weeks/month. c is it common to clash a lot of the time with someone else who is a fellow aspbie? apologies for all the questions im still struggling to get my head around these things. please help and thanks in advance.

    Hi Amy,

I apparently have asperges so I will try to answer your question.

    a) I think everyone has bad days. Its part of being human.

    b) If I'm tired or really not paying attention then yes that's possible. Saying that, I don't remember a lot of things. I can't tell you what I had for dinner three days ago but then, i know it wasn't anything special hence I wouldnt' remember. I usually forget the trivial bits.

    c) Everyone is different and that includes people with asperges. I personally failed miserably at building any frendship with the aspie guy in my college course. It was the start of the course and i didn't know anyone so I thought, why not chat to him but he never warmed to my company and I made other friends. But saying that, I knew a girl who had asperges and we got on great =).

Please tell me if I overstep the mark but.....

I think you have a lot of questions that have been put in your head. You have probally been told you are different because you have asperges. But the kicker is, every person is different and that's what makes us human.

You can use the label how you please but at the end of the day, the best action is just to accept who are you. Don't bother trying to catergorise yourself into a box. Obviously you can but you will just end up creating a prison for your mind because you will sterotype yourself.

You have no box and you can be any person you want to be smile.

Btw how old are you hun?

I have found there are having bad days, and then i have extremely bad days, when even the slightest thing can push me to breaking point. With the struggle with my memory i see you struggle remembering bits in the last few days, i can instantly forget what was said 15- 20 mins before doing a task. I know everyone is different in their unique way and that those with Aspergers can have some special talents others wish they could have, like remembering dates from childhood or historical times, but i also know how hard it is for those with Aspergers to socialise, I am one of them.

With regards to the questions, yes some of them may have been put in my head but others have been there since i was a child just wanting to figure out who I really am.

And again, thank you for getting in contact.
