I've had gerd 3 1/2 years and I've had bad cough too with it at times but I've never had pneumonia but like you I've heard that can happen. Gerd gives you anxiety and anxiety can give you gerd so I recommend getting on top of this the best you can. I've been taking lexapro 10mg for 3 yrs and that's helped a lot but I'm now changing drugs and weaning of lexapro. Only down side is lexapro is hard drug to come off!!!! Doc has now put me on antidepressant called valdoxan 25mg. Supposingly it's not addictive??

I've been managing my gerd pretty much drug free but I'm getting to the stage that I hate having such a restrictive diet and I want to be able to sleep flat so I'm now seriously considering the Linx procedure.

I'd recommend dgl licorice for reflux and aromatherapy oils for anxiety. I also meditate and do yoga. It's important to keep the mind positive. It's hard but it's very very important. Our minds play a huge role in this disease.

    All the best Dominique
