Asthma and rain storms

I've had mild asthma since I was a baby (I'm in my 50s now) and always find it gets a lot worse after a sudden rain storm or downpour.  Does anyone else experinece this or know why it happens?

Thanks

I also feel it is worse when it is damp. Apparently, all these polen particles you are reacting to adhere to the water particles in the air.

Yes, that makes sense.  With me its even in the utumns and into winter, I'm very sensitive to allergens.. How do you cope? I take Fexofendene  (anti histamnine tablet) and Ventolin.

Hi,Lizzie! I use my reliever inhaler more often. Also, hay fever nasal spray helps. I noticed, sometimes the spray isenough. I use prevalin. It leaves some thick white residue in nostrils and I guess just blocks the receptors in the nose. Hope that helps. Natasha

YES, which is why I moved to a drier climate -  the amount of drugs I was using just to breathe was ridiculous. A friend gave me Prevalin, it worked for a couple of days then it was itch scratch and sneeze as normal, (I cant take anti hista) Use Symbicort 160m they took away my Vent when my heart played up. Now I keep the humidity below 70, seems to work. Good Luck .

    Thanks everyone

I also have a nasal spray which I think is called Avamys, which really helps my allergic rhinitus, but of course, does nothing for the asthma.  I've always been allergic to things, tried having the tests once but on the first injection or whatever, my heart stopped and they had to recusitate me, so I just put up with it now.  I live in damp England by the way and am even today in early November, sneezing.

    Thanks for all your support
