Asthma Problem

Posted , 2 users are following.

I was diagnosed last year with asthma, i am currently on Symbicort 2 times a day at morning and night. i can also use it when i feel i need it.

since around 8.45 today i have now developed a cough, tightness in my chest and wheezing, neither the symbicort or ventolin reliever are easing it. I have tried to get an appointment to see my asthma nurse - she is on holiday for a week and a half! was told there are no doctors appointments available either! Getting on well here! then i was told to ring at 12.30 and speak with a doctor!

    Hi,

As far as i know no cold i managed to get a telephone consult with a doctor at my practice, although he didnt read my medical notes took me 15 minutes for him to give me what i wanted - hey presto steroids and antibiotics as before. have to pick them up after work. Feel slightly better than i did but not 100%.

Symbicort is a steroid. Which has side effects as I know after using it years for chronic asthma. So what are the antibiotics for ? a chest infection ?

Suspected chest infection as I have had this on and off for the last few weeks it eases then comes back. I'm on the symicort as the clenil and ventolin were not working very well.

Interested to know what dosage of SYMBICORT ? I use 160 twice a day, nothing else. Was using 320 till I bought my saltpipe, as I couldnt afford, money or time,  to go sit in the saltmine ! Why are you getting on and off chest infections? you must be abusing anti-b s by now, dont you think its time you saw a specialist ?

Well, I am happy for you trusting doctors, thats up to you of course, I have been given so many incorrect drugs that made me very ill I now look everything up on drugs.com before I take them;  I think I have been around a lot longer than you and survived the doctors, just take care.

I've had no reason not to trust my doctors who are amazing and I have a great asthma nurse as well. The Internet is not the best for getting drug information. That's a debate I'm not entering as u don't know how old I am, nor do u know my back ground!
