At a loss

My partner has had ongoing neck pain following some kind of accident approx 8 years ago. I don't know all the details as this was long before I met him. Following the accident, he had all kinds of imaging etc done and was given the all clear. But over the past 5 years, most noticeably the last 6 months, the pain has been getting worse and worse, and more constant.

He is stuck in a never ending line of medications everyday. 32 a day to be exact and more if the pain is really bad. He's tried everyone and everything 12 physios 4 osteopath 2 chiropractor numerous doctors. Numerous massages. Personal trainers so many self exercises and treatments . Specialists. Pain clinics. AND STILL can't get a clear answer. The latest pain specialist said it was due to stress and posture, which I find hard to believe, given the level of pain. Days on end of feeling sick and dizzy with headaches and horrible pain that only being getting worse over the last 5 years. He doesn't go out because of the pain. His diet is crap and next to nothing because of the nausea. He struggles to think cause of the pain. He can't sleep because of pain. He can't even sit on the couch and watch tv with out being in pain. It's horrible and I want it to stop because I know he is slowly reaching his limits. It scares me to think that he is only 25 and is constantly in moderate to extreme pain. He also suffers from depression and ADHD and I know that this chronic pain is only making things worse for him.

I'm at a loss. I want to help him but I don't know where to go next, it seems like he's tried everything. Can someone please give me some suggestions?? It would appear to be muscular pain rather than spinal, as it is only the right side. But it can be anywhere and everywhere, from his ear to his shoulder... Please help sad

Suffering from ADHD is a hormone imbalance  h ther is medication for ADHD and will, help, the depression. Counseling to is important. Education on ADHS on this patient forum can be helpful and seeing a doc that specializes in ADHD.

Has as he has xrays or MRI on the neck in my case I have disc compression. It can be treated .

Thank you, yes he is on meds for ADHD and depression, and has been seeing a psychologist. In terms of x-rays etc, yes he had all that done when the accident first happened, all clear. Pain specialist etc all said recently it's muscular. But the pain is incredible 😔

      Thank you

Well, more X-rays done on Wednesda, still nothing. He has had 3 weeks off work, been back for 2 shifts and has barely been able to get out of bed today. He had noticed little lumps in his neck previously, but doctors taken no notice. Now one has gotten bigger, so it is getting tested on Thursday. And a revisit with the pain clinic on Monday. We just want some answers!!! It's getting so much worse, he can't work because of it, and it's really affecting his depression 😔
