Hi All

Im claire I've been suffering with stage 3 HS for 20 years now.

You name it I've done it.....from antibiotics, creams, diet, exercise, salt baths, hot compacts, less hair, antibacterial soap/shower gels, lancing, cutting away bad areas, removal of both groins n left open to heal from the inside out.......

Im at my wit's end because now I've had to many operations n there is no skin left only scar tissue so i need plastic surgery which is probably going to mean skin grafts 😣

I'm almost putting off seeing them as im scared of the surgery. .... i want to put my head in the sand, I've had enough surgery to ladt me a lifetime. ...

I am so sorry to hear all you have been going through Claire. Mine is obviously quite tame in comparison. I have suffered for about 45 years but I only get about one a month. In the summer can even go longer clear. I am scarred and have problems waring under ware when it flares up but never had surgery. In fact was not even diagnosed until recently.

Hope you find someone who can help you soon.

My history is the same as yours except I was in stage 4! I also tried every one of those things! Cutting nightshades and peanuts put me in remission last summer. Many people are finding that HS is caused by food sensitivities. HS is an autoimmune disease. Your body is fighting the opening where your sweat gland meets your hair follicle. Google "food and autoimmune". Lots of information will come up about it. Good luck!

      Thanks for the reply.

I wasn't aware that there is a stage 4 with HS I've always been told it 1 2 3 stages.

I'll look into what you've mentioned.

      Thank you.
