At the end of my rope

Hello ladies. I have written a few post and you all our god sends to me. For the past 2 months I have had pretty long periods as of right now I've literally been bleeding 18 days. My gyno cant see me until Dec 28th and Im looking for a new doc as we speak. Looking for reassurance. Im 43 been in peri for about 4 years now. And in all my life even after my children never had a period this long. I am not flooding and its not extremely heavy just crazy. Has anyone bled this long not sure what this means. Never had a problem before no polys or fibroids as far as I know. Any help or what i can do until i get into doctor would be appreciated

hi don't worry I had the same two months ago. In April I had internal ultrasound and saw a gynaecologist and they removed 2 polyps as I was bleeding after my period. The DR sent me for hormonal tests and it was confirmed im going through peri. My period in October was so heavy and lasted for 15 days! or more.

This month I'm having brown discharge and my acupuncturist who was a gynaecologist said its normal in peri. I'm not worried as I had my internal examinations.

Good luck and keep me posted and ask them all the questions. Has your DR sent you for bloods?

keep talking as my anxiety is off the scales when I get new symptoms.

I'm not worrying about the brown discharge I've had enough!

Thank you for the reply. I am not alone!!! My gyno was able to get me in at 3 today so hopefully i can get somethings figured out. I am going to ask for blood work today as well. i literally had an anxiety attack an hour ago came out of no where. I am wondering what they can do for me because i can not have synthetic hormones ugh fingers crossed and will keep you posted

thats brilliant they saw you today! Did they do an internal examination? Ask to get your ovaries checked get bloods done on that too. If ovaries are fine then no need for ultrasound.

keep me posted here for you x

usually they can check with an internal examination to check your cervix is normal.

I don't want you to have any anxiety attack as you are already going through so much.

feel relieved you saw the gynaecologist today and everything is going to be fine.

      Hi Renee,

How are you? hows the bleeding? have you had an update from the gynaecologist?

Hi Sandee..I had blood work to check my hormone levels and had internal just to make sure all was ok. Doc said everything looks normal its mostly hormonal. When she gets my results Im going to start Bhrt. But Im still bleeding but its mostly spotting. I feel like it will never stop. Doc did say could take time for hormones to equal out. Symptoms have been better but I went out for a walk yesterday and i think from being in so much my sinus are a mess and I have had a headach all day!! I appreciate you checking in on me.

phew... I'm taking menobalance and it's helped...try it.

do you also suffer from bowel changes? constipation?

      any bloating and stomach aches?

oh of course!! That was actually one of my first symptoms. As im typing now i feel bloated and i have been having palps today its only 930 in the morning. I have acid reflux so sometimes if i over indulge in certain things I get a flair up and it sucks. And i feel like i get tons of trapped air. Its crazy. I even have some head pressure today. Ugh but the bleeding has finally stopped!!!

      that's brilliant thank goodness.

I've been getting uterus pain now! which is causing a light brown discharge! feel so fed up. My acupuncturist who was a gynaecologist said its your uterus expanding.

Feel so anxious with this. I'm taking probiotics and aloe vera juice and its calmed down my symptoms as well as changing my diet

hey thanks for your reply. Do you get brown discharge?

I've seen a gynaecologist in April and everything was fine apart from two polyps which were removed.

Take a probitic too it will help. My bowels have changed so much and I get constipated too.

yes like a very tiny amount but yes very dark brown! i also take a probiotic but i get the really early morning rush to the loo! i cant get over how my bowels have changed either ive even lost a little weight but think its my anxiety causing this x

me too! just got back from the gym too!

I also discovered 2 lumps in my armpit as I got sudden armpit pain last year. Saw a breast specialist all clear ive had two appointments over the last 2 years as my breasts changed and was sore all the time.

My armpit lumps were diagnosed as superficial.

I get stressed out as the lumps hurt and are always there! gives me anxiety 😫

omg we are like twins! i had pain in right breast on the side for 12 months doc then thought she could feel a lump had it all checked about 10 days ago at the breast clinic mammogram scan etc is dense tissue caused by you guessed it hormones & mastalgia! its my gurgling tummy & sore back which is causing my anxiety at the minute hopefully the aloe vera will help x

phew....the breast specialist found two fibrodermas in my breast. I didnt feel the lumps only the ones in my armpit as you can see them when I put my arms up. My anxiety went through the roof! especially with the pain in my arms and elbows.

I've been taking menobalance and it's helped with nausea. I had morning sickness and couldn't eat apart from crackers. My legs are like jelly and felt so off balance that I needed to hold onto something everytime I walked.

All of last year my acid reflux was causing my fatigue. But since I've changed my diet and had my endoscopy its much better as I'm not stressing that I've got something sinister wrong with me. They could a slight inflammation of my gut lining.

My perimenopause started 3 years ago with headaches which I've never experienced. Then my right handside was hurting had ultrasound and fibroscan as it showed rough texture of my liver all clear.

Then had two breast appointments over the last two years. This then moved to gynecology appointments as my periods are so bloody heavy. Then had endoscopy.

Had hormonal bloods done again and it was diagnosed early menopause. Thank goodness. I saw about 5 different doctors over the 3 years and finally found one that understands.

My girlfriends are all the same age 43/44. None of them are going through perimenopause.

I cont drink and have a laugh and most of the time I end up leaving early.

I've been away with them and ended up having the worst food poisoning on both the girly holidays! thankfully they've been brilliant.

I just want to be normal and have a gin and tonic!

I'm so glad I've found someone that understands. I'm here for you X

i cannot believe how your peri mirrors mine its make me want to cry knowing you understand, i dont personally know anyone who is going through this, these forums are keeping me semi sane! headaches & dizziness was my first trip to the docs too, then came achy joints, muscles, crushing fatigue, acid reflux, bloating etc etc im taking menopace not sure its helping, when ive used them all will try menobalance. im 46 now & this had totally floored me, even the thought of drinking turns my stomach & i want to go to bed at 9pm big hugs xxx

Me too, I've hated my 40s so far. I'm 43 and will be 44 in March. My sister is a year older than me and is fully meno now. I think it's in my family.

Never would of thought hormones would make you this ill. I did not feel this when I was pregnant I had an amazing and happy pregnancy.

I took menopace for 2 years and it didn't help. Definitely try the menobalance if it doesn't take effect.

My hair was falling out so much and cut a bob and changed shampoos. It's finally coming back but not growing quickly.

My skin also is spotty I get cystic spot along my jawline. I've found a good skincare regime and moisturiser too. My skin is so dry.

Keep around positive people, take walks and remember its all hormonal and one day we can have a large glass of wine! Feel normal again and never have these years back.

I'm here if you need me sending you hugs xx
