At what stage should severe itching ease with treated liver disease please

My husband was released from hospital 2 weeks ago after a 2 wk stay, he had become very jaundiced over Easter. He has been told that liver damage was caused by antibiotics, he also had immunotherapy treatment for(contained ) bladder cancer in Dec. However, he is still very tired, unable to stay out of bed for more than 1hr in a day. He is suffering from severe itch, body covered in red spots, no appetite and cannot sleep at night. Can anyone recommend how to deal with itch and lack of sleep. How long before he should see an improvement. He is not someone who compains but he is so unwell. Thank you
