Atenolol Withdrawal or Side Effects?

Hi All

I have been struggling with Atenolol withdrawal fir ten months now. In March 2021 - July 2021, I reduced from 20mg to 7mg. I have not reduced in five months since. But every day has been very difficult.

i have:

  • anxiety
  • restlessness
  • tight neck muscles
  • strong headaches
  • tinnitus
  • burning sensation in my body especially hands and feet that come and go
  • Adrenalin/Cortisol rushes
  • freezing episodes where i get goosebumps
  • dusturbed sleep
  • Can anyone tell me if you think this is still wd symptoms or side effects from the drug?
  • I am trying to stabilize before resuming my wd but i am not getting there. I dont understand if I shoukd continue to do nothing to wait and stabilize further or just plough on with withdrawal? My nervous system is shot...

wow, that is awful that you have had to go through it that long. They are awful drugs. I was put on BB for palpitations after covid. No other issues, just palpitations. But now I have a lot of issues. I have tingling in my feet, chills, but they dont last long. I sleep about 4 hrs. a night. The rushes and anxiety have effected me the most. I know that I have heard of a lot of people having issues for quiet a while after stopping. I guess we're very sensitive to medicine. My doctor told me today that I've got to let my body re-adjust . Everyone keeps saying to give it time that it gets better, but thats hard to do when you have medicine induced issues...you cant control it. I just keeping praying a lot

      thanks for your reply TYT

i understand what you are talking about. The rushes and anxiety are aweful! i also have tingling feet and hands as well as chills. i panic that it will never get better but people say it eventually resolves. How long have you been having withdrawals and were you on a high or low dose?
