Atenolol Withdrawal Shock

i was given a beta blocker because if a high heart rate caused by my antipsychotic Seroquel. i was on 15mg of Propranolol but my doctor changed it to Atenolol. this was better but I'm getting a burning sensations in my feet and hands.

i started tapering it at about 3% per week (I weigh the pills on a small scale). I have managed to get from half a 25mg pill to just more than a quarter (12.5mg to 8mg).

im experiencing profound withdrawal symptoms. insomnia, extreme anxiety, agitation, burning skin, feeling as sick as a dog.

I have now asked my doctor to prescribe a liquid compound so i can reduce at a rate of 0.10 mg/ml every few days.

i never expected to have such a fierce withdrawal from Atenolol. Can anyone relate?

    Catherine,

How are you doing on tapering your Atenolol? I also want to wean off my Atenolol but I'm not sure if the 25 mg tablet should be cut in half?... From what I've been reading on forums most people have withdrawel symptoms .
