Atf graft

I tore my Atf ligament in my right ankle. It was them repaired with the anchoring system called Athrex. I was wrapped for a week, then transferred to a boot for 4 weeks then lace up brace for these last 7 weeks. I still have tons of swelling and feels the same as it did prior to surgery. My doctor ordered another MRI I just read my results. It states the graft is tore and has 1 or 2 fibers remaining. I am guessing I will need another surgery to repair the graft. My aueation is, "how did the graft tear?" I have done nothing, I have completely followed doctors orders, stayed on crutches and knee scooter as told, done my physical therapy and even where my brace at all times. Is this a faulty graft? Did my extreme swelling cause it to tear?

I see the doctor tomorrow.

Thank you for any input.

I’d get a second opinion from a different specialist and perhaps do some research as to what other options might be available for your situation. Good Luck❤️
