I take Ativan (lorazepam) for anxiety. Is it safe to take with COPD? It is a benzodiazipine. I am concerned about respiratory depression.

    HiMary, I take Diazapam and have no ill effects, I don't think your Doctor would let you have them if they were bad for your otherhealth problems.

    Hi Mary, My husband has severe copd and he takes lorezepam, it was prescribed by his chest consultant. Other than making him a bit sleepy he has not had any other side effects.

    I presume your doctor prescribed the medication, so it should be fine.
