Ativan gave me my life back but now I’m worried, what if I get kidney failure.?

Have you tried melatonin for sleep? My dr said its the safest sleep med to take.
Id think you would have to take huge amounts of ativan for it to do any damage to your kidneys. A simple blood test can tell you of your kidneys are working as they should be.

I did do a full physical is september and every was fine but i feel anxious about that all of a sudden. now i am thinking of alzhimers smh

What makes you think you'll get kidney failure? I've been taking it for years with only one kidney and I'm fine. Ativan should only be used while trying to find a drug to help you. It's a sedative and wares off. Your doctor should be giving you something else and using the Ativan for panic attacks

It all depends. What is your diagnosis? I'm bipolar and can't take antidepressants. They make me worse. I take amitriptyline which is one of the oldest antidepressants around, and can help sleep. I was taking it before depression, used for pain so my system was used to. I also take Buspirone for the anxiety and clonazepam, which is in the family of Ativan. It just lasts longer. If you are bipolar you could probablymention Lamotrigine,"not an antidepressant" it worked miraclesfor me until I had a ruptured brain aneurysm. Mention these meds to your doctor. And ask him if you can be tested for Bipolar. Its an entire different form of depression. Some signs are ,mood swings, depression and highs like you can take on the world. these symptoms are up and down without notice. I can't suggest anything, there are so many new drugs out there. But I would say, stay on the Ativan until you come up with a medication that helps you. Wish you the best of luck.....

Kidney failure is a rare chance it MAY cause ,but drink plenty of water ,keep your kidneys working , it will make you feel better to see your kidneys working properly

I had been on Ativan 3 mg from 2002-2015 amd there is no sign of any kidney problem . Recently, the dr put me back in it , 1 mg x 4 a day. What dosage are you on for your Ativan ? If sleeping is a problem for you , you can try chamomile tea, melatonin , ashwagandha . All these are natural amd will not build up dependency. good luck .

I'm using 0.5 a night . I am just starting up a small business and i feel anxious. everytime something big happens i feel like i will die or something and i get very anxious and scared so im not sure if thats what causing me to be so worried about everything

0.5 mg is a very low dose . I can reassure you that you will not die from anxiety. That's what my dr told me . i am also on Ativan amd had been on it from 2002-2015 3 mg single dose . recently the dr put me back on 1 mg x4 a day. Hope you have solved your sleeping problem already . If not , you need to address it to your dr.
