Hi,my partner is on 80 mg of atorvastatin following a heart attack 12 months ago and for the last 2 months has developed pains in his legs[from below he knee to his ankle,mainly front of legs] could this be due to the medication,any advice would be very much appreciated.

I had the same experience with Atorvastatin 80mg. I was put on these after having a 2nd stent fitted 5 years ago. All was well at first but after 3 months awful leg pains started and I could hardly walk. I came off this statin and the leg pain diminshed. I tried the statin again to please GP but leg pains returned. Am now on 20mg of Simvastatin which have no obvious side effects. Jana.
