Atrial Tachycardia Questions

I know that, technically, atrial tachycardia is a form of SVT, but it IS different in a few ways than your "standard" SVT. I was wondering if anyone else here has AT and if they've been successfully "ablated" (is that the past tense for having an ablation? LOL) At any rate. . .or have a pacemaker? Right now, I've just (FINALLY) been successfully diagnosed after having a CVA 2-26-18 and spending four days in the ICU and in telemetry. They've put me on Verapamil and a statin and, although, I do feel "better", I'm wondering if I really want to live with the side effects of the medication for the REST OF MY LIFE???
Also, anyone else with AT noticed that their quality of life was pure s**t prior to treatment, but maybe you didn't realize how sick you REALLY were because you were so accustomed to it?
I've only been on the meds for a week or so but I've already lost 6 pounds (I'm not overweight to begin with) because I have NO APPETITE. Is that normal? Anyone know? Also, I've lost two inches off of my belly/abdominal area. Could I have had some water retention there? I noticed that my pants had gotten tight even though I had only gained about 2-3 pounds. Could it have all been water? Also, my brain doesn't seem to be working very well, but according to all of my docs, that's probably from the CVA and not the medication. Does anyone else feel "slow" on Verapamil?
I've had symptoms since I was 16 and I turned 46 last week (in the ICU no less) and have just NOW been 100% diagnosed. What a long and crappy road it's been, but I'm ready to feel better and like, better better. . .as in, no more SVT's, CVA's or medication! I just want to be normal 46 year old woman. . .for once, and for all. . .and forever!

So I spent 10 months weaning off plus another anxiety med too. Qorst year of my life. But in order to have another ablation EP said I must be off those meds.
So, I went for a wnd ablation Janyary 2018. He was ab le to trigger me, but found out it was not AVNRT, but was AT.
He told me that this requirred a 3S mapping machine for At but did not have that set up at the time.
So I am going back May 2018. I will have to stay over night, and will probably be put to sleep at some point. He gave me a 70-85% chance of success after 1 year
I never went back on the beta blocker after May 2016.
