Attacks while sleeping and duration of attacks

Hi Group just recently I had a Menieres attack while sleeping which obviously woke me up with ear fullness, followed by vertigo nausea and eventually vomiting. Was too late for Stemetil as I took 2 straight away but up they came. This Desease is so quick to come over you. Also my length of attacks seem to be shorter. Have hadM now for just over a year. I find it amazing that it happened in my sleep?

Hi Maria, that's happened to me loads of times.  You need Buccastem which are tablets you stick up under your upper lip to dissolve.  The idea is that if you're sick they don't come up, they should stay there.  They take a while to dissolve.  I have stemetil injections which my husband gives me but during the night his hands feel like sausages to him because of his arthritis so it's really hard for him to draw up the injection and do it.  But again, they don't get puked up.  So you could ask your GP for both of those.

Yes I've had the injections on numerous occasions but in Australia I doubt whether you can administer them yourself. So if it does happen at night tablets are my only option but will certainly enquire about Buccastem. Thanks for info.

Yes.....it certainly makes one realize how this is our body and not in our minds!  Even after 15 years of Ménières, like yesterday, I woke up diizzy and sick first thing in the morning. Stress, air flights and noise bring on the symptoms for me.  Do the best you can by figuring out you stressors and that may come in time.  You will get through this but it ain’t pretty!  Stay in touch!
