Aura and popping sensation in head and face, what causes this.

So lately I've had this popping sensation in my head which starts a migraine. Disappeared for awhile until the other day a pop happened behind my eye and now I have a migraine. I have gotten a ct scan without contrast due to how quickly I got it done at the ER after the first popped cause it freaked me out, they didn't see any abnormalities. So, what causes this? I don't feel like I am having a stroke or aneurysm. Just a migraine with the eye strain and aura.
