hi all

I have been on 100mg of set for the last 12 months and been ok . the brand I was using was Aurobindo but when I got my repeat the box had changed size . since I have been taking the meds from the new box the last 2 weeks I have felt bad again . Has anyone in the UK had same problem ?

Hi John, it is well documented that a change of brands of any medication can make a difference to how we feel, with the medical profession being split on this as if this can happen or not. find a sympathetic Dr , get a paper prescription, take the box with you that agrees with you and start touring the local pharmacies to find your right brand. If after being on the right one for 2 weeks you still feel off then perhaps you just need an slight dose adjustment instead. do not worry, once it has been sorted out you feel ok again

hi and thanks for the reply . The brand is still the same as what I was already on but the packaging had changed making me wonder if the meds had changed also ?

      Hi,

The company you mentioned is notorious for bad working conditions and pollution. There has also been a case of recalling a product that contained carcinogens.

So I would assume that the new package you got was from maybe a different factory or something changing in the manufacturing process. I would stay away from medicine that is manufactured in India entirely. I myself had really bad side effects when using the Accord brand but when I switched to KRKA which is made in Europe I got a lot less side effects.

John how are things with you now? I'm in the same boat as you with aurobindo it's been 2 weeks now for me and feel so down. did you change brand?

If you talk to your psych you can try to convince them to prescribe a specific brand that has worked for you. Then the pharmacies can't change brand for you. In my country I still get discount because my prescription says that the brand can't be switched.

I've only ever been on one generic brand and took me from Dec until now to get to 100mg and get over all the side effects. ive had 4 weeks out of 6 months of doing okish but then they changed the brand. took me 9 days to notice and figure out why I was going downhill but 2 weeks back on original brand and still not great. I'm guessing it takes quite a while to readjust!

what dose are you on John? I feel so tired and can't bring myself to do anything!

Yes, the body reacts strongly to dose increase or decrease, and it seems to be similar for brand changes, since the components and the way they are digested are changed. You'll get back to feeling good soon! Its just the meds side effects, it will subside.

started on 50 for 16 weeks then moved to 100 which i been on for about a year . i am wondering wether to go higher or just change brand

how long have you been on the brand change? I was thinking the same. either way we are going to have to go through the horrible side effects. since the brand change and then change back it's like ive done another increase with all the side effects!!!
