The magic number is two weeks. Yesterday was Day 14 for me. My doctor removed the stitches. He said that I can get it wet now. I also ditched my crutches and I started "heel walking". I was advised to always use my surgical boot when walking. I'll be back in 4 weeks for another X-ray and at that time, my doctor said that I can start wearing tennis shoes.

Patience is the key. The first week is the toughest.

Hi Carl. I have been heel walking for a few days. Making better progress each day. But it def feels better to heel walk in the surgical shoe than without it on hardwood, etc. Hope ur healing well. I have to be able to heel walk w ease by Thursday the 30th. It is my other foot being done
