Hi Charlie please rest  assured your not to blame for your son having autism.

My son is 19 and has aspergers high functioning autism and i went through the exact thing as you  i questioned how i was as a parent and was i to blame but eventually you will realise your not to blame. As far as family go when they visit your home just be the same as you would be with a child without autism just remeber the autism is a tag your son is individual and so needs treating to whatever his personality is. Best wishers to you and your family

Your response is understandable. A specialist doctor has recommended that should be assessed for autism and am now on NHS waiting list. Eventally, I told my parents about all this. Judging by her repsonses, I think my Mum feels repsonsible. And I do not want her to think like this.

An autism assessment will help you and your son.  Assessment and diagnosis provides explanation and specific help. Feeling guilty or finding somone or something to blame won't help anyone.

Charlie, you’ve done nothing wrong in the way you carried your child. Many mothers who follow all of the best pregnancy practices to a T have experienced these kinds of outcomes. Just know that this community is here for you and a proper diagnosis will quell your anxiety and inform you of the best actions to take. If you are ever interested in a non-invasive treatment that enhances cognition and drives development, check out the stem cell therapy offered by Stem Cell of America. They have treated hundreds of autistic children successfully.
