Autologous eye serum

My blepharitis came on over the past few months and has reached a point where it's almost unbearable. My eyes dry out so bad at night that my eyelids stick to my eyeballs. I wake up to pain that feels like someone is stabbing me in the eye when I open my eyes or even just move my eyes around when they are closed. I am afraid to go to sleep. I'm doing the whole routine of hot compresses, eyelid massages, eyelid scrubs and eyedrops throughout the day. My eye doctor recommended I try various ointments before bed (Muro 128, Retaine, gel). No matter what I do, it doesn't last through the night. I wake up in pain and have to put in more ointment every few hours.

Last week, they suggested I try autologous eye serum. They drew some of my blood and sent it to a compounding pharmacy where they used the plasma to create special eye drops. I've been using them for a week and I am hopeful that they are starting to work. I made it through the last two nights without any painful episodes. I did use the ointment and got up a few times to put in more of the drops, but I think I'm seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.

I wanted to share this with all of you as a potential solution and am also curious if others have had experience with this.
