Avoiding toilet paper now

Though not biopsy-diagnosed, my symptoms were textbook lichen sclerosus and my physician had been treating it as such. I had been suffering with this condition since early in menopause, experiencing very uncomfortable symptoms a minimum of twice a week. Sometimes prescription clobetasol helped and sometimes not that much. Then in 2021 a shortage of toilet paper in our area incentivized me to research other options in the event that I wouldn't be able to buy anymore. This led me to an article suggesting one alternative substitute for TP was to cleanse using water in a peri bottle and drying with terry cloth wash clothes. Making this switch because toilet paper was scarce has led to a life-changing discovery. I can honestly tell you since that time, close to 2 years, I have had fewer than a half dozen flare-ups of the miserable burning/itching that I had been experiencing for over 10 years. I have since added a bidet hose to the toilet which is more convenient that using a bottle of water eliminating almost all toilet paper. I'm not sure if I instead may have simply developed an allergy to toilet paper(s) or it really is an aid in living with LS, but I felt I wanted to share this experience because if it helped just one person reading this, it was worth my time in posting. Best of luck...
