Awareness of heartbeat

So I’m a hypochondriac and I have severe anxiety. I suffered from all types of physical anxiety symptoms and for the Pat two day, it has been an awareness of my heartbeat. I can feel it clearly beating and sometimes it feels a bit harder or fast... not only that, but I can sometimes feel it on my finger tips as well.... even if I’m sitting or lying down I feel it ...what do I do to make it go away or to stop concentrating on it so much ? Have any of you gone through this ???

I've had the pulsating feeling in my fingers before and aware of it beating in my neck, chest and throat before which was odd. I found doing something that excercises the brain to be a good distraction as it removed focus from it. For example reading, doing a puzzle or crossword, colouring or drawing something I saw. Anything that requires full concentration.

Yes it has never been my focus as I always focus on my head, but this is quite common for most people. Please stop worrying it will ruin your life. Do all the things you want to do and don’t have regrets. Forget about all of This and live happy

I’ve also gone through this. It was the worst during and a few days after my first panic attack, but basically your body is just under a lot of stress from worrying about these things and the more you pay attention the worse it gets because you become more aware. I used to pay a lot of attention to my breathing and heart beat I would also get random pulse sensations in random spots in my body, along with that I could hear a pulse in my ear sometimes and it was very scary to me because I thought Something was seriously wrong with me but in reality it was just my body telling me I need to calm down. Some anxiety sufferers become hypersensitive which is where you become very intune with body sensations such as your heart beat, breathing, finger numbness(from anxiety), body pain and many more.  I’m sorry you have to go through this it sucks but it gets better over time and if you can find ways to distract yourself it helps even more, some great ways to get your mind off of it is to do something you love or that is fun some examples - go for a walk, draw, paint, watch your favorite movie or Tv show, download apps for people with anxiety (I love the app head space), meditate, ect. I hope I helped if and if you have any questions about what is happening message me! I’ve been through a lot when it comes to things like this.❤️

always not to concentrate on a given thing - distract yourself from this. Start doing something else. Read. Play. Go for a walk, talk to someone, it effectively distracts you
