Awful burning sensation through whole body

Posted , 4 users are following.

I’ve been on citalopram for 3 weeks - 2 days of 5mg, week of 10, just over a week of 15 and 3 days of 20. I get these awful waves of whole upper body burning sensations. They last about a minute and then go off. Any one else get these and do they go away? I was feeling a bit better today and hadn’t had any for a few days and then wham! So demoralising and makes me feel terrible again 😔

Hi Tamsin it's a side affect so dont worry. I'm on my 3rd week on 20mg and I get that burning feeling in my chest but it goes away. You've got through the hardest bit now you will start having positive feelings soon. Take care. Paul

I also get this side-effect; it was bad during weeks 3-6 after starting, and has gradually decreased in frequency. Nowadays (7 months), it only seems to correlate with particularly heightened stress/anxiety.
