On Bisoprolol for a few weeks now and am getting awful feelings of dread throughout my body. Although it's a small dose 1.25mg it is horrendous. Anyone else having similar issues?

I also have spiky BP and yes that means the tablets will not suit all day long as when your BP is normal the medication is too strong and therefore you will feel ill. I had a 24 hour monitor and the average was 153/84 so they feel I m borderline and just have spikes. Trouble is are the spikes concerning. I think more research needs to be done.

I've had many 24 hour monitors and they always tell me it is the average that counts but many reports say it is the highs that are dangerous and put you ready for a stroke.

My last 24 hour monitor was around 147/78. After an earlier lower one a cardiologist claimed to have solved my BP. That one had a reading in the 180's and another of around 108.......Average???

Exactly. I don't know what to think sometimes. They also say the morning readings are most important. Hmmm. It's a lottery

I often wonder what my body is doing in the night to reach such levels.

Probably get up for a snack:-)

Actually we often waken up smelling cooking or sometimes toast. We never smell it during the day just during the night and really there is no way it could seep up or down with concrete ceilings and parquet floors. The old lady above has now gone to live with her daughter and anyway her carer cooked for her.  The old lady below also does not cook herself.

stop taking it if it makes you feel ill. See GP for a one that makes you feel better not worse. There are loads of BP drugs
