Babinski sign

Posted , 5 users are following.

Being investigated for RA due to joint pain and numbness/hand weakness.

My hand joints have been particularly painful the last couple of days.

However, I now learn I have the Babinski sign in my right foot. A doctor friend tested it yesterday.

The middle toes of my right foot sometimes go numb at will - as they did this evening. I have severe weakness in my right hand.

Due to see rheumatologist soon. Does anyone know of a connection between Babinski sign and RA? Seems like I need a neurologist instead. But I can't explain the joint pain.

Thanks to everyone who has already given me advice.

    Hi Elbmow

didnt want you to think no one was listening to you, but have no idea with this!

At least you have begun a process by getting an appointment with a rheumy .Hope you get somewhere with a diagnosis

      Thank you!

Sometimes I just think wait and see, other times I get inpatient and search for answers that aren't there...

    Hi Elbmow,

The positive Babinski sign is showing central nervous system involvement so if this is what you have you are right when you say you need a neurologist and get further tests done to get to the cause of it.
