back again balloon dialation

now its really getting me down attemptade to eat ocean pie hour ago 15 minutes later had to bring it back up as it wasnt going down and the feeling was getting really unpleasant my spincter is closing up again only had a dialation few weeks ago the thought of going back in again.cant be living like this.My wait as stayed 10 stone.dont know what else to say or do.let u know outcome of this misserable illness. :cry:

    My nan suffers from achalasia, she has had this condition for over 2 years and has had numerous operations but nothing has helped. She is now fed through a tube into her stomach as she had dramatic weight loss from not being able to eat. She even regurgitates drink. She can only eat food that melts in her mouth like the crisps quavers. I am trying to find new foods for her to eat and was wondering what you find it easiest to eat to try and give her a change. Thank you

    Hi David,

    I have just had my first balloon dilation and am also still suffering from the same symptoms as before (difficulty swallowing, pain in chest at night and occasional regurgitation) just 1 week after procedure.

    The first dilation only has a success rate of 60% though so I am thinking about going back to have second balloon dilation of increased diameter to see if that works.

    I understand that you feel fed up, I feel the same, but it got to be worth another try? :wink:

    after a few balloon dialations and 5 weeks ago botox injections its getting more diffecult swallowing again i was told by my sergeon if it persists it will be sergery which is hellers myotomy i am now just on liquids so i will go to casualty like i have been told to do i think hellers is the last option for me as every thing else hasnt worked i was aqused by one docter for jumping the que which made me feel angry i just want to eat normal or nearly as i gonna try and stay out till after xmas so i wunt be enjoying xmas dinner at all but thats life i suppose i will let u know how things go. BEST OF LUCK SUFFERERS. :roll:
