YES!!! I have the same! It started in my right hip, then I had an X-ray and it showed "sclerosis ". In my SI joint and the from pelvis joint. So I had PT that did nothing...so I went to a local chiropractor who did muscle release as well as put my SI joint back in place numerous times until he said "I think something else is going on here". So I finally got labs, my hsCRP was 25 with a slight elevation of my seed rate....so since I had this wired rash which then began to look like psoriasis I told my DR to put me on prednisone...HEAVEN! Hip pain stopped, so long story I'm tapering the prednisone, my Rheum put me on Methotrexate 15mg, which helped but we had to up that to 20mg. Hip and back hurt off and on, but better than before....so what could be causing the hip pain is "enthesitis" which is swelling of the areas where tendons/ligaments attach to the bones...ever look at pelvis and hip there are a ton of attachments in those areas...I'll try to get a link to the article he gave me!

    Hi there

I had that too on the lower left back and down my thigh.

If it's on that side ask for an urgent (they should do it within 2 weeks) CT scan as they found my liver has lesions on it and enlarged liver ducts. I'm waiting for an MRCP (camera down the throat) to have a proper look at it but the only thing they can put it down to at the moment is methotrexate use so they've stopped my medication. Apparently it's not serious but you need to stop the MTX to stop it damaging further (all with advice from your Rheumy of course).

If it's the other side it could just be a trapped nerve. To be on the safe side I would get your full range of bloods done including renal.... My liver function came back normal... It was just by chance I ended up in hospital and they did this CT scan.

Don't panic though... I'm assured it sounds worse than it is!!

Good luck and fight for appointments. Unfortunately I've founding have to fight to get things done but remember however busy/understaffed they are this is your body and you want answers.

    Best of luck to you

    ??😊

Hi Lisa, not sure that a 'camera down the throat' would be able to look at your liver.  And, in the U.K., an MRCP is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians.  I hope you get some answers soon.

MRCP also stands for magnetic resource cholangiopancreatograohy which I had done Thursday. It specifically magnetically takes images of the liver and around that area. Originally I was told I would have a camera down my throats but because I had the CT scan in hospital clearly showing damage to my liver that was bypassed. As my liver results on blood tests aren't coming back as abnormal they were exploring all possibilities... it was only by chance I ended up in hospital and had the CT scan otherwise they would still be looking at other things for the abdominal swelling and lower back pain.

I hope that clears things up for you

      Regards

My daughter (age 19) and I both have an arthritis that's in this "family" and she has terrible lower back pain.  We've tried just about everything and she's gotten little relief.  I'd welcome any suggestions anyone has on how to deal with this!

i have exactly the same.  I'm on methotrexate for psoriatic enthesis/arthritis.  I was told I would need hip replacement when I was in my twenties but haven't had any problems with it really until now - 30 years on.  The pain is excruciating and debilitating.  It's definitely not sciatica with me.  It's causing a significant limp currently.  I'm due to go to USA in December and I'm worried how I'll cope if this pain is still there.  Back at the hospital early August and I can hardly wait.

I have suffered back pain on the lower spine, I've never really had a lot of back pain, I take painkillers for a few days, light movement and it's ok then.

    Hope you feel better soon
