Just letting you know that My hubby tool me away for a weeks holiday last Saturday had severe D before we went but I took four imodium and the 5 hours journey went very well with no toilet stops, but the day after it started again and I never moved out of the flat for 2 days we decided to come home yesterday was  just feeling too miserable I took 4 imodium and got back home ok but this morning again not been able to move far from the bathroom! This Bile Salt Malabsorption is horrendous and is making me very depressed been like this now for 3 years! Going back to the docs this afternoon see if there is anything else I can take otherwise what's the point of living?

Hi sandynan am so sorry your suffering like this. It's so unfair that this has happened to you and so many others after their gallbladder was removed. Would you try psyllium husk powder? It's completely natural and I've found it really great in stopping the diarrhea. I also take caltrate calcium 600 d tablets 1 tablet 3 times a day with food and the combination of the two have really helped me. A lot of people who have bsm take both as they can't tolerate the bile sequestrants prescribed by doctors. I'm sorry your feeling the way your feeling and can totally relate to how you feel and I'm only 5 months post op. Take care xx

Sandynan how did you get on with the doctor? I read somewhere that they have found that people who have bsm are deficient in a hormone and they are supposedly coming out with a pill for it next year. Please God that will help you. You are not alone sandynan. I actually think I have it too but don't want to be tested at this stage. The psyllium and caltrate are working for me so I'll keep going with that for now. Please God you find something that works for you and soon and you can get back to living a normal life. Take care of yourself and remember your not alone. Thinking of you. Xx

Thank you Ace, well the doc has told me to start taking 4  of the bile binders a day instead of two and 8 imodium when needed, I hope it works! The Doctor said he will monitor me now (I think he could see how depressed I was) I have to go back in three weeks. Thank you for your reply love xxxx
