back pain 5 months after surgery

I had 2 disk in my back fixed and some bone triimed away of my nerves. all was fine 1-2 months after surgery but 5 months later im in the worst pain ever, mostly in the area of the operation with some nerve pain but even that is getting worse. I had another MRI done but doc says other then narrow disk space he dont see any nerves pinched. On a scale 1-10 pain is a 7. Ive noticed its worse standing more then 5 min and going up stairs or stepping over the dog. anyone know what this could be?

I'm in the same boat Mike. 5 months post surgery and in pain. Can't extend my back, left thigh is dead and burning sensation and back gets extremely tired after a few minutes sitting. Just returned to work and pain getting worse throughout the day. I'm seeing my surgeon in 5 weeks.
What did you actually have done? I had a double ALIF at L4-S1. Pain really only came back after I started Physio.

I had to herniated disc so they did a double microdiscectomy and then they shaved some bone away from the nerve roots coming ou.t they did both at one time. Im getting a lot of nerve pain in my left thigh and burning stabbing pain near my incision. Im guessing disk pain. I have been back to my neuro surgeon who did the surgery but he says there's nothing wrong but there's pretty much no disk space anymore and he sent me to pain management. But ive contaced a different neurosurgeon for a 2nd opinion. Im in a lot of pain.

If there's no Neuro issue it may be orthopaedic. I had my first surgery with an ortho, second with Neuro and third with ortho. The second with the Neuro was the worst one I had. I'm hoping this one settles over time. It's a long healing process but I may be left with a fair amount of numbness, burning and pins and needles.

Think you're better to get that second or even third opinion. Especially if you have narrowing of the disc space. That becomes more of a orthopaedic issue and less Neuro.

Did you have a neurologist do nerve conduction studies? They are more accurate than CTs, etc. I've have 2 lumbar lamies and now have at least 2 pinched nerves and DDD. From what I understand, the more surgeries, the more likely vertebrae crumble into each other by discs becoming more flattened. My surgeon says there's nothing else he can do. My question...whatever happened to disc replacement!? Any way...please think about my first sentences...
